The text at the bottom lists eight hidden service members.
This is incorrect: several of the names in the caption match Campbell-Ewald ad-creative staff credited on the Navy campaign, not hidden service members in the photo.
Full reasoning
The caption in the ad does list eight names with Navy-style ranks, but multiple exact names from that caption also appear as advertising credits for the same Navy print ad and related Navy work from Campbell-Ewald.
Evidence:
- The One Club’s archive entry for the 2007 United States Navy print ad "Bushes" credits Jason Fetterman as Art Director, Mark Simon / Dan Ames / Eric Olis as Creative Directors, and Michael O'Connell as Writer.
- The caption shown on the ad uses those same names: Mark Simon, Eric Olis, Dan Ames, Michael O'Connell, Jason Fetterman.
- A separate WebAward page for NavyAthletes.com lists a Campbell-Ewald Navy team that again includes Mark Simon, Eric Olis, Dan Ames, Mark Dipietro, and Jason Fetterman.
- Jason Fetterman’s own portfolio says of the Navy SEALs work: "even in the ads we create for them", confirming he was one of the creatives behind Navy SEAL advertising.
Because several of the exact caption names are documented as ad-agency personnel on Navy work, the bottom text is not simply a list of eight hidden service members. At minimum, it includes names of the campaign’s creative staff, so the post’s description is factually wrong.
