Apple TV had secured the rights for Sanderson's entire Cosmere universe
This overstates the scope of the Apple deal. Reactor later corrected its report after hearing from Sanderson’s agent, saying Apple acquired adaptation rights only for Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive, not the entire Cosmere universe.
Full reasoning
This claim is contradicted by a later correction from Reactor, which says an earlier version of its article had incorrectly reported that Apple bought the whole Cosmere. Reactor states it then learned from Brandon Sanderson’s agent that Apple had acquired rights only to Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive.
So while it is accurate that Apple is developing Mistborn films and Stormlight Archive television, the article’s wording that Apple secured rights to Sanderson’s entire Cosmere universe is too broad and unsupported by the corrected reporting.

Editor's Note: An earlier version of this article incorrectly relayed a report that Apple TV acquired the rights to Brandon Sanderson's entire Cosmere universe. We have since learned from Sanderson's agent that Apple TV has only acquired adaptation rights for The Stormlight Archive and Mistborn books.
