The official preview of The Lost Colony identifies Holly Short as a private investigator and explicitly calls Mulch Diggums her partner at the start of the book. Artemis Fowl reference material likewise describes Short and Diggums: Private Investigators as Holly Short + Mulch Diggums. Separate reference material on Doodah Day says that after Holly rejoined the LEP, Mulch and Doodah formed their own private-investigation business.
So Doodah Day did later partner with Mulch, but not in the firm called Short and Diggums. That firm’s “Short” is Holly Short, not Doodah Day.
