OpenAI’s own public changelogs show active development and shipping during the exact period this post describes as a weeks-long pause.

On OpenAI’s official Release notes page, there are entries on October 9, 2026 ("Composer predictions in Codex"), October 8, 2026 ("Ultrafast mode for GPT-6.1 Sol," "Faster steering in Codex," and "Manage plugin access by role"), and October 7, 2026 ("Updated chat-latest model snapshot").

OpenAI’s official API Changelog likewise lists multiple releases and updates across the prior weeks: October 8 (Ultrafast mode for GPT-6.1 Sol), October 6 (Decisions API beta with gpt-6-luna), September 29 (computer use for the Agents API; GPT-6.1 Sol; Ultrafast mode for GPT-6 Astra), September 22 (GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna), and September 3 (GPT-6 Astra).

Those are not signs of a company whose development "has been paused for WEEKS." They are dated, official records of continuing product and model development, launches, fixes, and configuration changes during that period. Even if someone were speculating about a pause in one narrower internal effort, the post’s broad claim about OpenAI having paused development for weeks is contradicted by OpenAI’s own published release history.
