Claim
Anthropic has partnered with the top companies in cybersecurity to try and patch everyone’s systems
Correction

Anthropic’s Project Glasswing is a limited defensive program for named partners and additional selected organizations, not an effort to patch “everyone’s systems.”

Full reasoning

Anthropic’s own announcement describes Project Glasswing as a partnership with a specific set of launch partners—AWS, Apple, Broadcom, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Google, JPMorganChase, the Linux Foundation, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Palo Alto Networks—plus access for “over 40 additional organizations” that build or maintain critical software infrastructure. Anthropic says those participants will use Mythos Preview to scan and secure their own first-party and open-source systems, and that Anthropic will later share lessons publicly.

That is much narrower than “patch everyone’s systems.” The initiative is aimed at partners’ systems and selected critical software, not all systems generally.

As part of Project Glasswing, the launch partners listed above will use Mythos Preview as part of their defensive security work... We have also extended access to a group of over 40 additional organizations that build or maintain critical software infrastructure so they can use the model to scan and secure both first-party and open-source systems.
