The Princeton degree listing is wrong. Princeton identifies Dario Amodei as a Ph.D. alumnus, and Princeton’s relevant graduate programs award a Ph.D. with an incidental M.A. en route—not an M.S.

Princeton’s own 2023 profile of Dario Amodei calls him a “2011 Ph.D. alumnus” and says he “completed his Ph.D. in physics (with a focus on biophysics)” at Princeton after Stanford. It does not list an M.S. degree for him.
Princeton’s graduate program pages also contradict the MS claim. Both the Physics and Biophysics pages list Program Offerings: Ph.D. and explain that students may qualify for an M.A. on the way to the doctorate. In other words, Princeton’s relevant graduate paths here are doctoral programs with an incidental Master of Arts, not a Master of Science.
So the infobox entry claiming “Princeton University (MS, PhD)” is inconsistent with Princeton’s own description of Amodei’s degree and with Princeton’s published degree structure for these programs.
