Claim
Anthropic has ~5000 employees, so this would be only a hundred or so pseudo-employees.
Correction
The arithmetic here is off: 5% of about 5,000 employees is about 250, not “a hundred or so.”
Full reasoning
The preceding sentence gives 5% of the workforce as the example upper limit on pseudo-employees. If Anthropic has roughly 5,000 employees, then 5% of 5,000 = 250. Using LinkedIn’s current public company page, Anthropic is listed with 5,168 employees, and 5% of 5,168 is about 258.
So under the article’s own assumptions, the implied cap would be roughly 250–260 pseudo-employees, not “a hundred or so.” The exact cap is still hypothetical, but the numerical implication in this sentence is incorrect.
