At least EAGx events are forbidden from hosting evening events or serving alcohol for liability and "professionalism" reasons.
This overstates EAGx policy. Official EAGx event pages show multiple EAGx conferences explicitly hosting evening programming and networking, so EAGx events are not categorically forbidden from holding evening events.

Official EAGx event pages directly contradict the blanket claim that EAGx events are "forbidden from hosting evening events."
Examples from EAGx's own conference pages:
- EAGxNYC (August 18–20, 2023) says the conference had "dinner and opening talks that evening" on Friday, and that the venue would be open for networking until 10 PM Friday and 10 PM Saturday.
- EAGxSingapore 2022 (September 2–3, 2022) says: "Join us on the evening of Friday 2nd for a get together event in a chill location."
- EAGxDC 2026 (May 1–3, 2026) says it hosted a Friday evening reception from 5:30–9:00 PM for registered attendees.
Those official schedules show that EAGx events do, in fact, host evening events. So the post's blanket statement that EAGx events are forbidden from hosting evening events is factually incorrect as written.
I am not relying on absence of evidence here: these are affirmative, official examples of EAGx evening events. Even if some individual EAGx events are alcohol-free or impose tighter venue rules, that is different from a general prohibition on evening events across EAGx.
