Like every other country in this world, Cheliax is medieval and poor.
This overgeneralizes Golarion’s setting. Pathfinder’s world includes explicitly technological regions like Numeria and Alkenstar, so it is not true that every other country is simply “medieval and poor.”
Full reasoning
Official Pathfinder material describes parts of Golarion as containing advanced technology, guns, clockworks, and even alien technological ruins.
- Paizo’s Iron Gods page says Numeria contains “the fragmented remnants of a ship from beyond the stars” and “strange technological ruins,” with “super-science” in the setting.
- Paizo’s Alkenstar blog preview says the city has “clockworks, guns, and other steampunk elements,” plus engineering guilds and factories.
That means Golarion is not uniformly medieval in technology. A universal claim like “every other country in this world … is medieval and poor” is therefore incorrect.
