This overstates the reported child death toll in Gaza by a very large margin. UNICEF reported about 21,700 children killed in Gaza as of 30 June 2026, while 70,000-plus referred to total Palestinian deaths, not child deaths.

So the number in the post appears to confuse the overall Palestinian death toll with the child death toll. Based on these UN/UNICEF figures, the child death toll was reported in the low 20,000s, not above 70,000.
