This word is incorrect in this list of brands said to have proprietary cartridges.
Pelikan’s own current cartridge product page describes Pelikan 4001 GTP/F/5 as a “standard ink cartridge” and says it is for “all Pelikan and many other cartridge fillers.” That directly contradicts calling Pelikan’s cartridge system proprietary.
A specialist Pelikan retailer’s compatibility guide says the same thing more explicitly: “Pelikan International Standard” cartridges fit the same way as other international-standard cartridges, while truly proprietary systems are listed separately as “Manufacturer’s Specific.”
So Pelikan should not be included in a list of brands with proprietary fountain-pen cartridges.
