The Austrian Foreign Ministry’s exhibition text says he lived in Bucharest “bis Dezember 1947,” when he left Romania forever, and then spent six months in Vienna before settling in Paris. The Austrian National Library’s biographical entry likewise says that after 1945 he worked in Bucharest and “flüchtete 1947 über Ungarn nach Wien” (“fled in 1947 via Hungary to Vienna”). That makes the article’s dating to “the beginning of 1948” incorrect.
