Με πληθυσμό 347.342 κατοίκων όσον αφορά το 2024
The 2024 population figure is wrong. Official 2024 population records list Bilbao at 348,089 residents, not 347,342.
Full reasoning
Spain’s official municipal population figures for 1 January 2024 were published by royal decree in the Boletín Oficial del Estado (BOE). In that official table of provincial capitals, Bilbao is listed with 348,089 inhabitants.
A second government source, the Basque Government’s local-entity registry page for Bilbao, also gives "Nº de habitantes 348.089" for "Año 2024".
So the article’s statement that Bilbao had 347,342 inhabitants in 2024 is not consistent with the official 2024 population figure; the correct official figure is 348,089.
