It was written between 2001 and 2005.
This mixes up publication dates with writing dates. Charles Stross says he began writing the first Accelerando story in 1998; the component stories were published in 2001–2004, and the book edition came out in 2005.
Full reasoning
The dates here compress writing, serialization, and book publication into one inaccurate range.
According to Charles Stross's own notes, he began writing the first Accelerando story, "Lobsters," in 1998. He also says the project as a whole took 1998–2004 to emerge. Separately, the novel's publication history shows that its component stories appeared in Asimov's from June 2001 through December 2004, and that the collected book was published on July 5, 2005.
So a more accurate summary would be something like: written starting in 1998, serialized in 2001–2004, and published as a book in 2005. Saying it was simply "written between 2001 and 2005" is incorrect.
