Hurtubise discovered that bears wouldn't attack the suit.
This overstates the result: at least one bear did attack the suit during later testing.
Full reasoning
The record does not support the blanket claim that bears "wouldn't attack the suit." A contemporaneous WIRED report on Hurtubise's first bear test says he put the suit in a cage with a 1,288-pound Kodiak bear, and the bear "ultimately ended up jumping on it and ripping through the chainmail covering." An Improbable Research report quoting the North Bay Nugget likewise says the Kodiak bear "claimed that suit as if it was a dead kill" and that it "tore some chunks of the rubber off" while pounding on it. Some bears may have been wary of the suit, but saying bears simply wouldn't attack it is contradicted by documented testing.

For his first test, he put the empty suit in a cage with a 1,288-pound male Kodiak bear. The bear seemed wary of the giant suit at first -- but ultimately ended up jumping on it and ripping through the chainmail covering.

"He literally claimed that suit as if it was a dead kill ... He tore some chunks of the rubber off, but even though he was pounding on it with all 1,300 pounds, he wasn't able to crush it."
In early February 2010
The Trojan suit auction happened in February 2007, not February 2010.
Full reasoning
Contemporaneous coverage places the eBay auction three years earlier than this sentence says. BayToday profiled the Trojan on February 2, 2007. Engadget then reported on February 7, 2007 that Hurtubise was "placing his latest work up for auction" and that it would close on February 15th. TechCrunch likewise reported on February 6, 2007 that he had been "forced to put the Halo suit ... up for sale on Ebay." Those dated reports contradict the claim that this happened in early February 2010.

Ursa Mark VI
The suit’s name was "Ursus Mark VI," not "Ursa Mark VI."
Full reasoning
Multiple reliable sources identify Hurtubise's bear suit as the Ursus Mark VI. The Canadian Film Encyclopedia's entry on Project Grizzly says he built the "Ursus Mark VI," and BayToday likewise describes his best-known suit as the "Ursus Mark VI." The article's use of Ursa Mark VI appears to be a naming error.
