The official tourism site for the Peloponnese says Cape Malea lies "southeast of the Peloponnese" and is only "the second more southern spot of Greek inland following Tainaro cape." The official Visit Greece page for Cape Tainaron calls it the "southernmost tip of mainland Greece," which is in the Peloponnese. UNESCO likewise describes the Mount Parnon–Cape Maleas reserve as being in the "southeastern Peloponnese."

So the article's wording is too strong: Cape Malea is a southeastern cape of the Peloponnese, not its southernmost tip. The southernmost point is Cape Tainaron/Matapan.
