Klein Vision’s own January 2022 announcement says the AirCar “has been issued the official Certificate of Airworthiness by the Slovak Transport Authority.” It does not say the vehicle received a type certificate. That distinction matters: EASA explains that a Type Certificate is the approval for a new aircraft design, while its airworthiness rules state that a certificate of airworthiness is issued to an aircraft that conforms to an already issued type certificate. In other words, these are different regulatory approvals, and the January 2022 milestone described by Klein Vision was an airworthiness certificate, not type certification.
