Northwest A&F University’s own history page says the present university was formed in September 1999 by merging seven institutions, including Northwest Agricultural University. That means the institution named “Northwest A&F University” did not yet exist in 1967.

The image file page used for this photo also gives the Chinese description as “习仲勋于文化大革命期间在1967年9月被带到陕西咸阳西北农学院接受批斗”, i.e. Xi Zhongxun was taken to Northwest Agricultural College in Xianyang in September 1967. So the caption should identify the predecessor institution, not Northwest A&F University.

The intended person is the Tsinghua physicist 叶企孙, whose standard English name is Ye Qisun. Tsinghua University’s official English pages list him as YE Qisun, including on its page of former university presidents and on the Department of the History of Science site.

Because the post is referring to that specific physicist, writing the name as “Ye Qisong” is a factual error in the person’s name.
