• Luke Nosek's personal appointments page lists DEEPMIND TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED with role "Resigned Director", appointed 23 February 2011 and resigned on 24 January 2014.
• DeepMind's company officers page likewise lists NOSEK, Luke as "Resigned Director" and shows the same resignation date.

So the article's present-tense wording — that he "is on its board of directors" — is incorrect. A historically accurate wording would be that he served on DeepMind's board or was formerly a director.

The article says Confinity merged with X.com "to create the PayPal service," but PayPal already existed before that merger.

• PayPal's official 10th-anniversary history lists July 1999 funding for a "PayPal enabled" Palm Pilot and says "October 1999: PayPal launches email payments".
• The same official history then lists "March 2000: X.com and Confinity merge."
• PayPal's 2001 SEC annual report says: "We launched our product in October 1999" and separately states that "On March 30, 2000, X.com merged with Confinity, Inc., ... which developed the PayPal product."

So the merger did not create the PayPal service; Confinity had already launched and developed PayPal before the merger.
