MIRI was not founded in 2010. The organization says it was founded in 2000 as the Singularity Institute and only adopted the name "Machine Intelligence Research Institute" in 2013.

MIRI also states in a separate 2014 post: "The Machine Intelligence Research Institute (MIRI) was founded in 2000".
So if the author means the organization itself, 2010 is incorrect by a decade. And if the author means the MIRI name specifically, that also is not 2010: MIRI says the renaming happened in 2013.
