No more than six weeks after the King's death
This timing is too short. Official Bavarian palace sources say Neuschwanstein opened to the public on 1 August 1886, seven weeks after Ludwig II died on 13 June 1886.
Full reasoning
The Bavarian Palace Administration's official Neuschwanstein page states that "Seven weeks after the death of King Ludwig II in 1886, Neuschwanstein was opened to the public." A second official page from the same administration gives the exact opening date: "opened to the public from 1 August 1886."
King Ludwig II died on 13 June 1886, so an opening on 1 August 1886 is 49 days later, i.e. seven weeks, not "no more than six weeks."
