The DEA agent's surname is misspelled here. Contemporary reporting and PBS Frontline identify him as Ernst Jacobsen, not Jacobson.

This appears to be a name error. Multiple sources on Barry Seal's DEA handler identify him as Ernst Jacobsen:
- PBS Frontline's archive on the case names him "Ernst 'Jake' Jacobsen".
- A contemporaneous 1988 UPI report on the Barry Seal/Nicaragua hearings likewise refers to Ernst Jacobsen, the DEA agent who testified.
Because those sources refer to the same DEA official involved in Seal's undercover work, the article's use of "Ernst Jacobson" is incorrect.
