Reliable reports about Musk's departure distinguish between when he announced/leaving began and when the 130-day SGE limit expired.

Reuters reported on May 28, 2025 that Musk was leaving the administration and that his off-boarding would begin that night, while also stating that his 130-day mandate was set to expire around May 30. ABC News likewise reported that he could hit the 130-day limit as early as Friday, i.e. May 30, 2025, and showed Musk at a White House event on May 30.

So the article's wording is incorrect: May 28 was the date his departure was announced / off-boarding began, not the date the 130-day deadline expired.
