you killed more than 70,000 children.
This overstates the reported child death toll in Gaza by a very large margin. UNICEF reported 21,700 children killed in Gaza as of 30 June 2026, and later said about 300 more children were killed over the next 300 days after the October 2025 ceasefire announcement—not 70,000+ children.
Full reasoning
UNICEF's September 2026 State of Palestine appeal says: "In the Gaza Strip, at least 21,700 children have been reported killed as of 30 June 2026." That is the UN children's agency's published figure for reported child deaths in Gaza.
A later UNICEF press release dated 6 August 2026 adds that "At least 300 children have been reportedly killed in Gaza in the 300 days since a ceasefire was announced in October 2025." So even adding those later reported deaths, the documented reported child toll remains in the low twenty-thousands, not more than 70,000.
This means the post's claim that Israel killed "more than 70,000 children" in Gaza is not supported by the published UN child-fatality figures and is off by tens of thousands.
For additional context, OCHA's 18 September 2026 humanitarian report describes deaths in Gaza continuing during that period, but at the scale of dozens in the reported week, not a sudden increase of nearly 50,000 children beyond UNICEF's latest published child total.
