This sentence places the beginning of Korean settlement too late. Multiple historical sources place the first Korean settlement in the Russian Far East in 1863 or 1864, i.e. the 1860s, decades before the late 19th century.

• An International Institute for Asian Studies article says that, although scholars debate the exact year, "the first Korean families appeared in the territory of the Russian Far East in 1863."
• A University of Oregon thesis likewise states that "1864 was the year when the first group of Korean immigrants settled in the Russian Far East."

Because both dates are in the 1860s, the article's claim that settlement began in the late 19th century is inaccurate even if sources differ on whether the exact year was 1863 or 1864.

On July 16, 2026, Ukraine issued Presidential Decree No. 614/2026, which states: "Dismiss VITALII KIM ... from the post of head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration." The same day, the Verkhovna Rada announced the new Cabinet composition and listed "Кім Віталій - Міністр у справах ветеранів України" (Vitalii Kim as Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine).

So Vitalii Kim is not the current governor/head of Mykolaiv Oblast anymore; he was dismissed from that role on July 16, 2026 and appointed to a ministerial post the same day.
