The radioactive cloud from outskirts of Kiev, Ukraine, where a Russian missile blew up NATO depleted uranium warehouse last night - is heading for center of Ukraine.
Available radiation monitoring does not show a radioactive plume from the July 6, 2026 strike near Kyiv. Officials and local reporting described smoke/air-pollution and secondary explosions, while radiation readings in both Vyshneve and Kyiv remained within normal background ranges.

The strongest contradiction is the radiation data: monitoring in Vyshneve showed background radiation within usual limits on July 8, and monitoring in Kyiv also showed radiation within usual limits, with the highest value still below the control level. That is not consistent with a documented “radioactive cloud” moving across central Ukraine.
Reporting on the incident also described a very different hazard. Local coverage said authorities were dealing with hazardous air pollution / PM2.5 smoke and the danger of secondary explosions after the strike. Official Kyiv regional administration reporting likewise said that after the fires, gamma radiation in Kyiv region corresponded to the natural background.
The post also presents the strike as a confirmed hit on a “NATO depleted uranium warehouse.” But the cited reporting on the aftermath describes widespread damage to the residential sector, railway-worker dormitories, private homes, and civilian/commercial buildings, not a confirmed NATO depleted-uranium depot.
