Claim
Our current minimum “bar” for SROI is around 2,000x — meaning that for every dollar we spend, we aim to generate at least $CG 2,000 in value.
Correction

This page’s present-tense “current” bar is outdated. Coefficient Giving said on July 23, 2026 that it had lowered its global health and wellbeing funding bar from about 2,000x to about 1,000x.

Full reasoning

Coefficient Giving’s own newer materials contradict this present-tense claim.

  • In a December 18, 2025 post, Coefficient said its Global Health and Wellbeing funding bar was “roughly 2,000x.”
  • But in a later July 23, 2026 post, Coefficient said it was “lowering our GHW cost-effectiveness funding bar from ~2,000x to ~1,000x.”

So the statement here that their current minimum bar is around 2,000x is stale as of August 21, 2026. Coefficient’s newer official position is that the bar is now about 1,000x, not 2,000x.

This also means the follow-on explanation on this page is out of date: the July 2026 post says the new bar corresponds to saving a year of healthy life for $100, whereas this page still describes the older $50 figure.
