- GOV.UK’s Germany tax-treaties page lists multiple UK–Germany tax treaties and related documents, including a 2010 UK-Germany Double Taxation Convention that entered into force in 2010.
- The text of that convention states it is a “Convention between the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Federal Republic of Germany” and says it was signed on 30 March 2010.
- UK legislation also preserves an even earlier 1960 Convention on Social Security between the United Kingdom and the Federal Republic of Germany, which entered into force in 1961.
Because there were already bilateral UK–Germany treaties well before the Kensington Treaty, calling it the first bilateral Germany–United Kingdom treaty since World War II is factually wrong. At most, the Kensington Treaty may be notable as a new friendship/cooperation treaty, but it was not the first bilateral treaty between the two countries after the war.
