In 2021, the UK Government announced it no longer planned to use Huawei's 5G technology.
The date is wrong. The UK announced Huawei's removal from its 5G networks on 14 July 2020, not in 2021.
Full reasoning
The UK government's own press release says the decision to remove Huawei from UK 5G networks was published on 14 July 2020. That announcement banned new Huawei 5G equipment after 31 December 2020 and set the timetable for full removal by the end of 2027.
A later UK government strategy document also refers back to July 2020 as the point when the government set that timetable. So describing the announcement as something that happened in 2021 is incorrect; 2021 was after the decision had already been announced.
