This is outdated. bet365 no longer owns Stoke City; Stoke City Holdings was demerged from bet365 in July 2024 and is now owned by John Coates.

This claim is no longer accurate.
Companies House now lists Mr John Fitzgerald Coates as the sole active person with significant control of Stoke City Holdings Limited, with ownership of shares - 75% or more and ownership of voting rights - 75% or more. The same Companies House page shows bet365 Group Limited as a ceased person with significant control, ending on 8 July 2024.
bet365's own Section 172 statement for the year ended 30 March 2025 says: "Stoke City Holdings Limited and its subsidiaries were demerged from the bet365 Group and are now owned by John Coates."
So while bet365 previously held the club through Stoke City Holdings, that ceased in July 2024. The current ownership is John Coates, not bet365.
