The report says OpenAI defined the investigation window as June 26 through July 13, not July 7 through July 13. July 7-13 was the main period analyzed, but it was not the full stated scope.

In its scope section, it further states: "OpenAI defined the investigation period as June 26th through July 13th" and explains that the analysis nonetheless focused mostly on July 7 onward because that is when the main ExploitGym incident period began.
So the post compresses the analysis-heavy period (July 7–13) into the officially defined scope period, which the report says was broader: June 26–July 13.
