This line says Box’s CTO moved to a Member of Technical Staff role at Anthropic in December 2025. But Box’s own materials still identify Ben Kus as Chief Technology Officer at Box well after that date.

Evidence:

• Box’s official leadership page lists Ben Kus — Chief Technology Officer on the executive team.
• Box’s official speaker/resource page likewise says Ben Kus is the Chief Technology Officer at Box.
• Box blog posts published in 2026 still carry the byline “Ben Kus, Chief Technology Officer at Box.”

Those official Box sources are incompatible with the claim that Box’s CTO had already left for Anthropic as an MTS in December 2025.

This shorthand is misleading about the timeline.

Mike Krieger did not move from Instagram directly into an Anthropic MTS role in January 2026. Instead:

1. In May 2024, Anthropic announced that Krieger was joining the company as its Chief Product Officer.
2. In December 2024, he was still publicly identified as Anthropic chief product officer.
3. In January 2026, The Verge reported that Krieger was changing roles within Anthropic to become a member of technical staff and co-lead the Labs team.

So the January 2026 event was an internal Anthropic reshuffle, not an Instagram-to-Anthropic jump from CTO to MTS at that time.
