McConnell said that he "took a fall" that landed him in the hospital and that he was "briefly unconscious," but also explicitly said: "I didn't have a heart attack or a stroke." The attending physician's office added that he "was admitted to the hospital four weeks ago after falling at home" and that a comprehensive evaluation found "no fractures, cardiac abnormalities, stroke, tumor, or hemorrhage."

Those statements directly conflict with the article's claim that he was "found at his home in cardiac arrest." At most, early dispatch audio appears to have fueled speculation, but the later on-record medical statement says the hospitalization followed a fall and found no cardiac abnormalities.

The label "118th Congress" is incorrect.

The U.S. Senate's official committee-assignment page identifies McConnell's current roster as "Committee Assignments of the 119th Congress", not the 118th.
