Slate Star Codex was launched in 2013 and was temporarily discontinued on June 23, 2020.
The shutdown happened on June 22, 2020, not June 23. Scott Alexander’s own deletion post is dated June 22, and contemporaneous coverage also says visitors found the site gone on June 22.

Scott Alexander’s own post announcing the deletion is titled “NYT Is Threatening My Safety By Revealing My Real Name, So I Am Deleting The Blog” and is explicitly dated June 22, 2020. In that post he writes, “So, I kind of deleted the blog.” That is the primary-source announcement of the shutdown.
A contemporaneous New Yorker article also says: “On June 22nd, visitors to Slate Star Codex ... discovered” the site had been replaced by the stripped-down deletion page.
So while many reactions and follow-up articles were published on June 23, the blog’s temporary discontinuation itself happened on June 22, 2020.
