The PRIDE Classics fighter profile for Imamura likewise says that in February 2002 at "THE BEST" he defeated Joe Son. Those records place Son's debut against Imamura at the first "The Best" event, not Vol. 2.

So the sentence should identify Son's PRIDE debut as taking place at PRIDE The Best Vol. 1.
