This is incorrect because Slay the Spire also has shared card and relic pools. Colorless cards can be obtained by any class, and most relics are available regardless of character.

This sentence overstates how character-locked the game is.
According to the current community-run Slay the Spire wiki that Mega Crit says is the version "that will be maintained going forward," Colorless cards can be obtained by any class through shops, events, or card rewards via Prismatic Shard. The same wiki's relics page says most relics can be obtained regardless of your character, with only some relics being character-specific.
So while each character has their own main card pool and some exclusive relics, it is not true that players only obtain character-specific cards and relics during a run.
