- This quotation is widely misattributed to Mark Twain. Reference works and quote researchers trace it instead to newspaper editor William Allen White.

- This overstates SpaceX’s precedent-setting role. Private rockets had already reached space before Falcon 1—Conestoga 1 did so in 1982, and Pegasus reached orbit in 1990.
- Zambia was not an apartheid state, but it did experience bloody regional conflict. In the 1970s it suffered armed incursions and deadly attacks from Rhodesia and South Africa.

- The shutdown happened on June 22, 2020, not June 23. Scott Alexander’s own deletion post is dated June 22, and contemporaneous coverage also says visitors found the site gone on June 22.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AI_Futures_Project#AI_2027
- This is out of date. The AI Futures Project’s official site now lists Lauren Mangla—not Jonas Vollmer—as Chief Operating Officer.
- The official AI 2027 materials credit Scott Alexander more prominently than as an editor: he is listed in the byline and is described as having rewritten the text in an engaging style.
- The project’s own public materials indicate it predates 2025. Its LinkedIn page says it was founded in 2024, and an official post from April 3, 2025 says the team had already been working together for more than half a year.
- That misstates how the authors describe AI 2027. In their own materials, they call it a “scenario forecast,” say it represents their “best guess,” and explicitly say their goal is “predictive accuracy.”

- Catholic sources distinguish betrothal from marriage itself. Betrothal is a promise of future marriage and can be dissolved; it does not make the couple husband and wife.

- Theta Noir’s own materials explicitly reject the idea that MENA/AGI will be an "overlord." They describe it instead as a "benevolent partner" and emphasize decentralized, collaborative power rather than omnipotent rule.

- GitHub did switch Copilot to usage-based billing, but it did not eliminate flat subscription plans. The plans still exist and now include a monthly allotment of AI Credits; extra token-based charges are optional/conditional overages.
- 936 GB/s is the bandwidth of one RTX 3090, not eight of them. An 8× RTX 3090 setup has about 7.49 TB/s of aggregate memory bandwidth, assuming you sum per-card bandwidth the same way the article sums it for other multi-GPU builds.
- An RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell is not faster in memory bandwidth than an entire 8× RTX 3090 setup. NVIDIA lists the RTX PRO 6000 at about 1.8 TB/s, while eight RTX 3090s total about 7.49 TB/s if you aggregate per-card bandwidth.
- Not by bandwidth: tinygrad's own tinybox red v2 page lists 2,560 GB/s aggregate GPU RAM bandwidth, while eight RTX 3090s would total about 7,488 GB/s if aggregated the same way.
- The M3 Ultra bandwidth figure in the table is far too low. Apple lists M3 Ultra Mac Studio at 819 GB/s of unified memory bandwidth, not roughly 300 GB/s.

- This is incorrect. Carnegie Hall’s own archives show multiple rock acts had played there before Jethro Tull, including the Rolling Stones in 1964, and Carnegie Hall records many rock events before Tull’s November 4, 1970 appearance.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wicked_problem
- This misstates the term’s origin. The phrase “wicked problem” was already being used in 1967, when C. West Churchman reported that Horst Rittel had suggested it in a recent seminar; Melvin Webber later coauthored the 1973 paper that formalized the concept.

- This overstates how humane those methods are. Veterinary and welfare guidance says cervical dislocation and decapitation do not reliably cause immediate unconsciousness, and decapitation can leave brain activity for up to about 30 seconds.
- Commercial poultry scald tanks are hot, but not near boiling. Extension guidance puts chicken scald water roughly in the 125–160°F range, far below water’s 212°F boiling point.

- This misstates AOC’s position. Her earlier quote was that you can’t *earn* a billion dollars, not that it’s impossible to *make* one; and in her later post she again explicitly said someone can certainly *make* a billion dollars.

- This historic-house entry has both the wrong name and the wrong build year. Official Scottsdale and Arizona historical sources identify it as the Frank Titus House, built in 1892.
- Scottsdale Public Library does not have five library locations. The library's official locations page lists four total libraries: Appaloosa, Arabian, Civic Center, and Mustang.
- These Scottsdale Unified School District figures are outdated and incorrect. The district now says it has about 20,000 students across 29 physical campuses and one online high school, and employs about 3,000 people.
- This is incorrect because Arizona also has MOCA Tucson, an operating contemporary art museum in Tucson devoted exclusively to contemporary art.

- This conflates the Royal Military Police with its predecessors and gives the wrong date. Official histories say today’s Royal Military Police traces its origins to 1855, while Wellington’s earlier army-wide police force was the Staff Corps of Cavalry created in 1813, not in 1807.

- This confuses the NPT with the CTBT. The shift to simulation-based stewardship followed the U.S. end of explosive testing and the CTBT-era test-ban framework, not an NPT testing requirement.
- This overstates what Blue Brain achieved. The project reported simulations of parts or fragments of rat brain tissue, while its whole-brain milestone was for the mouse brain, not the rat brain.
